Surrounded by 50 acres of both private wooded land and wide-open fields of wildflowers, the Waterfall House itself is unique -- a spectacular and eclectic home evoking a lost world of salons, great hall lounging, and dance hall feasts.

Built in 1852, the New York Waterfall House, the main house of the 50 acre country retreat center, overlooks the Western Castills' beautiful Schoharie Valley, reputedly the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi.  Filled with period antiques and featuring a Dance Hall, a Great Hall, five guest bedrooms, owner's quarters, wrap around porches, and a vintage German-style bar with an adjoining gaming room (with a pool table and 1920s regulation shuffleboard); the 7000 square foot Waterfall House sleeps up top 14 in private bedrooms and 25+ in shared dormitory style arrangements. 

...And although the house is enchanting, for many the real draw is the breathtaking beauty of Panther Creek as it winds its way through the woods, finally plunging 100 feet at the Kenhuragara Waterfall and into the natural swimming pools below.  Visitors often say, "I never knew New York could be so beautiful"... or "I feel like I have gone to Brazil for the day"...

Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world.
