The Dance Hall

The GREAT Hall

The Dance Hall is the most versatile event room of the house. It can be used for yoga, dance, banquets, meetings, weddings, lectures, concerts, and much more. The space features an enclosed sun porch area, and a 900+ square foot dance floor of rich original wood from local forests. 

Located on the second floor, the Great Hall is a relaxing period salon decorated with original wallpapers, vintage sofas, velvet easy chairs , Asian carvings, French chandeliers, a Steinway piano and an old fashioned wood burning stove. Spanning over 1,100 square feet, it is a classic writer's den, family gathering space or meeting room.

With it's rich acoustics and natural reverb, the Great Hall has also been used as a recording studio for several records, and we have a full mobile studio with vintage gear and recording equipment available for rental. 

The BAR

Located adjacent to the Dance Hall, the old-world Victorian bar was converted into a German-style beer hall by the previous owners in 1947.  The bar itself is like a movie set... with pine panelled walls, diorama boxes, handmade tables and chairs, and various photos and paintings of the history of the house.   Group meals are often served on long tables in the bar or on the wrap around porch just outside, underneath the wisteria vines. 

THE GAME ROOM

Adjoining the bar is the Game Room.  Many late night hours have been whiled away at the pool table, and many important decisions made over heated games of shuffleboard.  Televisions are scarce at the New York Waterfall House, so our bar and game room is the place where people have always come to just hang out, relax, and be together. 

Both the bar and the game room have been used in various music videos and photo shoots as well as New Years Eve celebrations, Thanksgiving dinners, wedding parties, and other festivities.
